Becky & Nick’s wedding day began covered by thick mist rolling in from the South Devon coast. The couples’ preparations were punctuated by furtive looks out of windows to see if the sun was shining yet and if the sea view was in sight. With an almost magical feel to it, by the time the ceremony began, the mist had completely cleared and spirits were sky-high.
The wedding ceremony was conducted by Becky’s incredibly talented sister, Sophie Colligan. Sophie is a humanist celebrant based in Liverpool, covering the North West and beyond. What a talent! Becky & Nick’s ceremony was personal and meaningful whilst also being totally entertaining and interactive.
Stretching out across the field, the couples’ friends and family created probably the longest confetti line I’ve ever photographed. We then quickly moved through group shots and headed to one of East Soar Outdoor Experience‘s barns for the drinks reception. Later, the nearby clifftops provided an epic backdrop for our couple’s portraits and then the party gone went well underway with speeches, paella, pizza and an alternative wedding cake made of cheese.
It was a total pleasure to be a part of this brilliant wedding, with a love of the outdoors and a great sense of adventure (their honeymoon was 2 weeks biking the Great North Trail!) I felt a great kinship with these two lovely folks! Here’s my highlights below (and doesn’t the first image feel like something out of Where the Wild Things Are?)
