documentary family photography

chaotic. messy. real.
let’s celebrate it all.

Sticky fingers and muddy boots. Toys everywhere and plates stacked by the sink. Chaotic, messy and real.

I’m not interested in perfection. I’m interesting in you and your family and what makes you tick. You’ve worked hard to create your home and give your kids a life of adventure. Let’s celebrate that.

It’s the little everyday moments that shape us and it’s the adventures we have together that we’ll remember. Let’s take a snapshot of this moment in time. It’s all about the here and now. It’s not about looking good for social media, it’s about the raw beauty and joy of your lives.

Make family photography not another task on your busy to-do list, but an adventure, something that fits in with your life, not the other way around.

“We (me, my husband, few months old baby and a cat) did a documentary photoshoot with Emily at our home and we weren’t sure what it would be like because we’ve never done that before. We were afraid that it might be awkward or that we will end up posing for the camera and not being relaxed. Turned out brilliantly, not only because Emily is a lovely person, and you hardly notice the camera while chatting with her, but also because she deliberately spent around 15-20 minutes getting to know us, drinking tea and talking, and that made us feel at ease.

She didn’t spend too long on the pictures afterwards (only a few weeks), prepared not just the gallery, but also a slideshow, and the pictures are amazing. Very happy to have used her services, if I ever have a chance to do that in the future, I will not hesitate a second, and I wholeheartedly recommend Emily to everyone out there.”

Wear what makes you feel comfortable and confident. It’s not about matching outfits or colour co-ordination, it’s about capturing you and your family as you truly are. If we’re heading outdoors on an adventure, then stick with what suits the occasion.
